In July of 2003, my wife Lori and I were led by
the Lord into the leadership role here at First Baptist Church.
We had joyfully served here as Associate Pastor for four and
half years, and were very surprised when God quickly changed
our responsibilities. I felt like Paul in 1 Corinthians 2,
"1And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not
come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you
the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know
anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
3I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much
trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching were not
with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of
the Spirit and of power, 5that your faith should not
be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Cor.
2:1-5 (NKJV)
The passion of my heart is that
my life and that of my wife and children would be a platform
for the "demonstration of the Spirit and of power" in order
that God would be glorified. That is also my passion for the
body of Christ-that every member experiences the life-changing
power of God personally in their homes, families, work, school,
and every other area of life.
Our prayer is that no matter who
you are or what you are going through that when you visit with
us you experience the love and power of God demonstrated in the
lives of ordinary people. If you have a desire to know God
more, to grow in your Christian life, to serve others, and to
share the love of Jesus with everyone He brings your way then
this may very well be the place for you.
Thank you for taking the time to
visit our website, and we do pray that God will give us the
opportunity to be a blessing in your life. One of the ways we
can do this is by prayer. We firmly believe that Jesus was
serious in Matthew 21:13 when He said that His house shall be
called a house of prayer. Is there any issue that we can pray
about with you. It may be an overwhelming crisis or just a
small burden, but it would be our privilege to "call on the
name of the Lord" and ask Him to work supernaturally in your
situation. There is a place for you to fill out a prayer
request form on the website, and I encourage you to take time
and do that now.
May God richly bless you and pour
out his favor in your life!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Troy Robinson
